Welcome to our weekly Friday Check-in for October 3rd, 2025 ✅

Happy October!! It’s time to check in! How’s your week been? What are some highlights from September? As you reflect back on your week and month, what are you most grateful for?

Take three deep breaths and spend the next few minutes slowing down and prayerfully letting go of your fears, worries, and stress. May you unburden your soul in the loving presence of God...

Let's begin with,

Page: An Invitation to Reflection

Read Matthew 6:25-34 (CEB) three times.

“Therefore, I say to you, don’t worry about your life, what you’ll eat or what you’ll drink, or about your body, what you’ll wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t sow seed or harvest grain or gather crops into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are? Who among you by worrying can add a single moment to your life?

And why do you worry about clothes? Notice how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t wear themselves out with work, and they don’t spin cloth. But I say to you that even Solomon in all of his splendor wasn’t dressed like one of these. If God dresses grass in the field so beautifully, even though it’s alive today and tomorrow it’s thrown into the furnace, won’t God do much more for you, you people of weak faith? Therefore, don’t worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ Gentiles long for all these things. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Spend a few minutes journaling in response to this passage:
  • What stands out to you most? Is there a particular word or phrase?
  • As you read through it a second time… ask God, “to what area of my life does that particular word or phrase connect?”
  • And as you read a third time, be asking God, “Is there an invitation for me?” Is there a response of some kind that God is inviting you into?

Next up is,
Person: An Invitation to Connection

“What worries have you been returning to?” is a question we reflect on every month at the Semi-Silent Retreat. Sometimes it helps to bring these questions into conversation, in the safe presence of someone we trust. Do you have a Spiritual Director, friend, family member, or therapist who walks with you as you untangle fears, anxieties, and stresses? As a new month begins, perhaps this is an invitation to consider what kind of connection you might need (find a Soul Care Guide here), and to lean more deeply into Jesus’ gentle call to ‘stop worrying'.

Please consider joining us tomorrow (Saturday, Oct 4) for the Retreat to reflect even more deeply! During our time together we carve out space for silence, solitude, prayer, and reflection on the month past and the month ahead; and we take time to authentically connect with one another. Hope to see you there!

Finally we have,
Plan: An Invitation to Intention

Gathering up our journey with September’s theme, consistency...

Throughout Scripture, God consistently creates, calls, delivers, forgives, and seeks relationship with people, and in response we are invited to live consistently in our identity as His children... salt, light, and witnesses to His kingdom. John the Baptist, Jesus’ teaching, and the Lord’s Prayer all remind us that consistency in faith is less about rigid repetition and more about steady, relational openness to God’s Spirit. To walk this out means persistently turning to Him in prayer, letting our lives point others to Christ, and anchoring ourselves daily in His presence with humility, hope, and trust.

What is one soul-care practice that helps you remain consistent and intentional in staying attentive and open to God’s Spirit? Take a moment to reflect on what has consistently nourished your soul and what practices or rhythms you might need to cultivate more regularly going forward. Take your reflections to God in prayer, offering thanks and naming your needs.

Closing Prayer:

“Faithful God, You are steady in love, constant in mercy, and true to Your promises. Teach me to walk in that same consistency. Not in rigid repetition, but in the freedom of knowing who and whose I am. May my words, prayers, and actions point others to Your divine Love, and may my soul find its daily anchor in Your presence. Amen.”
Enjoy and delight in the quiet freedom of God’s loving presence for as long as you can in this moment. Our prayer is that you carry this freedom with you throughout your day.

Amen.

Thanks for checking in today. We are grateful for you!
