Welcome to our weekly Friday Check-in for October 31st, 2025 ✅
Let’s pause to check in! How was your week?
What has stood out to you most this month, especially within the Friday Check Ins and continuously sitting with 1 Corinthians 13?
Let's begin with,
Page: An Invitation to Reflection

Read 1 Corinthians 13 (NIV) three times.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Spend a few minutes journaling in response to this passage:
- What stands out to you most? Is there a particular word or phrase?
- As you read through it a second time… ask God, “to what area of my life does that particular word or phrase connect?”
- And as you read a third time, be asking God, “Is there an invitation for me?” Is there a response of some kind that God is inviting you into?

Today’s Scripture Focus: “Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians. 13:7) Where do you most need to know that God’s love is unwavering, never letting go of you? How might that strengthen you for what lies ahead?

Person: An Invitation to Connection

Pause to prayerfully consider who in your life might be weary or discouraged. Who comes immediately to mind? Think of 1-2 ways you might intentionally provide some encouragement to this person this week. Speak words of hope and remind them they are deeply loved.

If you are seeking rest, renewal, more space to reflect, community and solitude, you’re invited to join us for the Semi-Silent Retreat TOMORROW! Check your time zone and hope to see you there!

Finally we have,

Plan: An Invitation to Intention

Practice a breath prayer this week:

on the inhale pray, “I am loved,”

on the exhale pray, “with an everlasting love.”

Use it throughout your day to anchor yourself in God’s persevering love.

Amen! Thanks for checking in today. You are loved.
